Surfspot Suhrendorf
Surf spot Suhrendorf on the island of Ummanz
The Suhrendorf surf spot is one of the best-known surfing destinations on the German Baltic Sea coast. It is located in the western part of the small island of Ummanz, which is part of the Rügen archipelago in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. With a view of the neighboring island of Hiddensee, Suhrendorf not only offers optimal wind conditions, but also an impressive panoramic backdrop. With winds from southwest to north, windsurfers and kiters get their money's worth here.
Flat-water surf spot for beginners and advanced surfers
The shallow water conditions at the Suhrendorf surf spot make it suitable for all skill levels - from beginners to experienced surfers. Originally, the spot was one of the largest standing areas in Germany. Due to nature conservation regulations, the area is now limited to a clearly marked water sports zone. The best access to the water is provided by the campsite on site, for which a day ticket is required.
Surf school, hostel and beach bar right on the beach
The infrastructure in Suhrendorf is consistently geared towards surfers: A kitesurfing and windsurfing school with courses for windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP and canoeing is right on site. There are also surf stores, a campsite with sanitary facilities and a surf hostel directly behind the beach. The beach bar with a view of the sunset over Hiddensee rounds off a relaxing stay.
