Schaprode surf spot

Schaprode surf spot
With perfectly flat water and a gigantic standing area, Schaprode is perfect for refining your style under laboratory conditions. But stay away from the fairway! For nature conservation reasons, you are not allowed to kitesurf at this cream spot. Winds from the southwest to northwest ensure optimal conditions. The idyllic ferry town of Schaprode is a popular starting point for excursions to the neighboring island of Hiddensee. As a result, the town is overcrowded with tourists, especially in the high season. The best access to the spot is from the campsite, as it is located directly on the beach. The standing area here is large enough and also suitable for beginners. Below the surface of the water, there are a few larger rocks that are only partially marked, which you need to watch out for. You should also be aware of the channel not far from the shore and avoid entering it. Unfortunately, the Schaprode spot is only reserved for windsurfers, as kitesurfing is not permitted here according to nature conservation regulations. There is a small windsurfing school on site that can provide you with advice and assistance. The spot is suitable for wind directions from SW to NW.
