Surfspot Lubmin
Lubmin surf spot: surfing and kitesurfing on the Greifswald Bodden
The Lubmin surf spot on the Baltic Sea is one of the quieter alternatives along the coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The small seaside resort is located at the transition from the Greifswald Bodden to the open Baltic Sea and offers surfers surprisingly good conditions despite its sheltered location. With wind directions from southwest to northeast, surfers and kitesurfers get their money's worth - especially with northerly winds, you can gain your first experience in the waves here.
Kitesurfing and surfing for beginners in Lubmin
If you're just starting out, you're in good hands at the Lubmin surf spot. The large standing area, the manageable waves and the extensive sandy beach make the spot particularly family-friendly and suitable for beginners. Surfing and kitesurfing is recommended at the marina to the east of the beach. On windy days, there is a mobile kitesurfing school on site that offers courses for beginners.
Lubmin as a surfing spot away from mass tourismIn comparison to well-known spots on Rügen, Usedom or Fischland-Darß-Zingst, Lubmin is largely untouched by mass tourism. Those who prefer to spend their surfing vacation in permanent accommodation rather than on a campsite will find a relaxed alternative here with plenty of space on the water and genuine Baltic Sea flair. Parking spaces, toilets and showers are also available.
