Born is generally suitable for wind directions from south-east to west, which makes many surfing days possible on the German Baltic Sea coast. Those taking off or landing should be considerate of other water sports enthusiasts on windy days. The national park boundaries of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park must be respected at all times.

The directly adjacent campsite offers affordable accommodation and a small snack bar - toilets, showers and waste disposal can be used for a daily fee of €6. A local surf school offers courses in windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP and kayaking. In Born itself, there are also restaurants and shopping facilities for refreshments.

Born a. Darß is located on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula and is easily accessible by car via the B105 and then the L21. The nearest train station is in Ribnitz-Damgarten, from where Born can be reached by bus or bicycle. Parking spaces are available directly at the spot.
