On the northern shore of Lake Plau, between the towns of Plau am See, Goldberg, Krakow am See, Malchow and Waren/Müritz, the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park covers an area of 35,500 hectares. The Karower Meiler, which is the gateway to the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park, is located directly at stop 07a Besucherzentrum Nossentiner Heide. The nature park is a certified star park.
