The manor house is one of the most important architectural monuments in the "Grafenwinkel" region of Western Pomerania. The baroque building with its English interior dates back to the 15th century. Lieutenant General Otto Martin von Schwerin bought the estate from the von Eickstedt family in 1761 and had the original castle built. The English country house style interior and the extension of the baroque building date back to the third construction phase from 1890-1902. The absolute highlight is the mirror pyramid dome in the small Hall of Mirrors. Restoration work began in 2020. Dargibell Castle Estate in Neu Kosenow is one of the most remarkable manor houses in the so-called "Grafenwinkel" area of Western Pomerania. The baroque building looks back on a history dating back to the 15th century and is located in the middle of the varied landscape of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern - not far from Greifswald and the island of Usedom.

History of the baroque palace: from von Schwerin to the English country house style

In 1761, Lieutenant General Otto Martin von Schwerin acquired the estate from the von Eickstedt family and had today's castle built in its original form. The third construction phase between 1890 and 1902 still characterizes the building to this day: at that time, the baroque manor house was extended and expanded in the English country house style. A particular highlight is the unique mirror pyramid dome in the small Hall of Mirrors - an architectural testimony of exceptional standing.

Dargibell Manor today - old beauty, new magic

Extensive restoration work has been underway on the listed property since 2020. Under the motto "Old beauty - new magic", Schlossgut Dargibell is to be revitalized as a place for art and culture in the future and thus take a new place in the cultural life of Western Pomerania.
